Dawn is a seasoned dancer with over 20 years of experience and a lifelong love for movement. Her formal training includes three years as a company member at Ball State University, where she studied a wide range of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop, contemporary, and even clogging. Dawn also trained at her home studio in Palatine, Illinois under the direction of Bonnie, Terry, and Corinna Lindholm, alongside numerous guest teachers from Los Angeles and New York.
While Dawn is deeply educated and fluid across all styles, jazz holds a special place in her heart, allowing her musicality, confidence, and joy for performance to shine. Beyond the stage, she is known as a quiet but impactful leader, a quality she brings into both her professional life in retail management and her artistic work. Dawn leads with intention rather than spotlight, preferring to let her actions and presence speak for themselves.
After spending many years focused on teaching and mentoring the next generation of dancers in the Indianapolis area, returning to the stage has reignited a spark she never truly lost. Being invited to perform in Strive Dance Company’s third spring production is both an honor and a full-circle moment, allowing her to demonstrate that the love of dance doesn’t fade with time, even if recovery takes a little longer.
Dawn performs with the goal of bringing joy to others, a spirit she proudly shares under the hashtag #happyharlow. She is thrilled to be part of HERstory, celebrating powerful women through movement and showing dancers of all ages that it’s never too late to dance for yourself.
